Island Hopping in Samal for Christmas

I spent my day-after-christmas at the Talikud Island in the Island Garden City of Samal here in Davao. It was a whole day of swimming, snorkeling and other fun water activities. We rented a boat from Wind and Wave to take us into a whole day island hopping.

Here are some of the photos of our christmas ocean adventures.

By the way, a friend sent a message to me. They launched a new social networking site for sports and they call it You Sport.

Congratulations to the following blogs:

My First Lunch in Malaysia

This shot was taken on my first day in Labuan, Malaysia. We were in Blueberry, one of their favorite restaurants inside the Financial Park. The first two floors of the Financial Park is a mall. It's a small mall compared to those found here. It's the only mall they have.

Fooling around the vegetable section

Unusual veggies I found in the supermarket.

Since when did Jollibee start charging Dollar$?

Yeah, the photo says it all. Jollibee's charging dollars!

My second trip abroad

I've been away from home for a couple of days now. A day after the summit, I left home. Huhuhuhu... now I'm a lonely vagabond. Toink!

It's my second time to leave the country. Exciting! Hahahha. When I arrived Manila, I had to wait for Jehzeel kasi nasa kanya ang ticket ko for Clark. After waiting for Jehz, we both went to Mall of Asia to have our breakfast. An hour of eating and chit-chats. Pinapa-inggit ko siya of stories from the previous day's event, MBS1. He also gave me half the sheet of Google stickers Ate Aileen gave him.

After we had our breakfast, he accompanied me to the bus terminal for the bus that would bring me to Clark. It's my first time to travel in Luzon using public transport. I've been to places outside Manila but this time is completely different. Thanks to the two ladies I met on the bus. They were so nice to accompany me on our way to Clark. They're bound for Singapore kaya I felt a little confident since we're headed for the same airport.

The Airport

I had to wait for few more hours because the plane that would bring me to my destination arrived couple of hours late from its scheduled departure time.

I arrived 9 in the evening in my destination. Everything here is great.

That's all for now. I'll update you with my trip soon.

I already got my renewed passport

Last week, I went to the office of the Department of Foreign Affairs to renew my passport which is going to expire this October. I was able to claim the new passport this afternoon. I noticed that they made several changes in the passport layout and content. Hmmm... the one that I had five years ago has no barcode. The photo and passport data are now placed on the first page. It was on the back of the front cover before.

One thing I noticed under my Limitations is

Not Valid for Travel to Iraq

Hahahaha... It's so funny. I have no intentions of going to Iraq. I would rather have a facelift Chicago than a experience war and terrorism in Iraq.

Anyway, I was amazed this time that the process did not stress me. I can still remember five years ago when I processed my first passport application. It was so stressful and energy-draining. But this time, I only submitted the application form and the photos, paid the fees and waited for a week. The queue was not that much either. Best of all, the system is better than it was before.

To end up all, I would like to thank those people behind the Department of Foreign Affairs who processed my passport. Thanks. I might use this one next month.

Passport

My passport will expire soon. Last week, I went to the Department of Foreign Affairs to renew my passport. I never thought na pipila pa pala ng katagaltagal bago tatawagin ang number ko.

I paid Php 500.00 for my passport. Akala ko available na yung bagong passport. May rumors kasi that DFA will be implementing the machine-readable passports soon. Next year pa pala. Yung mga diplomats pa lang ang meron.

Anyway, passport renewal takes a week before it can be claimed. So babalik na naman ako ng DFA next week to get my new Passport. I'll use this for my upcoming Malaysia-Brunei trip. The first and last time that my old passport was used was during my trip in Japan. That was almost five years ago. I didn't realize how time flies so fast.

Anyway, i'll keep you updated on my future trips. For more updates, you can check my Batang Yagit site.
